Aren't they great. This is exactly what I said to Sharon when she sent it to me - some of my all time favourites here. Apparently Sharon whittled down from a shortlist of 34 - I need to know what the other 24 were 🤔 Would be really interesting to compare everyone's top ten list of favourite flashes.
Someone was remarking on Twitter about how rich flash fiction has become over the years. How we have SO many brilliant works to reference, read, teach, pore over, learn from. It's so true. Mondettes is yet another fantastic Matt Kendrick curated resource that's so useful for me as a teacher, Matt. Thank you!
This is so true. I think the standard has increased so much in the last decade. And writers have had to innovate in order to find their particular niche. I love that richness. It's one of the things that makes flash so exciting as a form. Really glad Mondettes provides a useful resource. Honestly, I just rely on each month's story picker to send me their picks and I then upload them onto Substack. I'm doing very little and I gain so much as well.
Fantastic picks here from Sharon, Matt. Some of my all-time favorites in this list. I love the prompts as well!

Thank you, Matt. What a wonderful story by Sharon!
It's great, isn't it? I wanted to try and spotlight one of Sharon's lesser-known pieces. She has so many gems!
Thanks, Kathy! I wanted to include Procession, but someone had already chosen it.
